How to Set Up RePod With Your Apple Watch: Size, Scroll Wheel and Everyday Use

RePod is a physical conversion case for a compatible Apple Watch you already own. It changes how the Watch is carried and controlled; it does not add cellular service, Wi‑Fi, storage, a battery or new Apple Watch features. The Apple Watch is not included.

What RePod changes—and what it does not

RePod uses a mechanical control system. It has no added electronic circuit and no separate click switch. The physical wheel mechanism transfers your movement to the Apple Watch Digital Crown, so the Watch’s own software and controls remain responsible for the experience.

1. Check the exact Apple Watch size

Read the millimeter size engraved on the back of the Apple Watch before ordering or installing a case. Match that number to the current RePod Apple Watch size guide. Do not choose by band size, case color or the size of a different Apple Watch.

2. Prepare the Watch

  1. Remove the band and wipe the Watch and case area with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.
  2. Confirm that the Digital Crown and side button move normally before installation.
  3. Check that the Watch has enough battery for your first test.
  4. If you use a screen protector or another case, remove anything that prevents a precise fit.

3. Install the Watch carefully

Place the Watch into the matching RePod shell using the product instructions for your model. Apply even pressure and stop if the Watch does not seat naturally. Never force the Digital Crown, side button or display into position.

After installation, verify that the screen, side button and mechanical wheel are aligned. A correct fit should let the wheel move the Digital Crown smoothly without scraping or binding.

4. Test the mechanical scroll wheel

Turn the wheel slowly in both directions while watching the on-screen response. The mechanism is designed to scroll the Apple Watch Digital Crown; it is not an electronic click input. If the wheel feels blocked, remove the Watch and check alignment rather than applying extra force.

Test the Digital Crown directly before reinstalling the Watch if the problem continues. This helps distinguish a case-alignment issue from a Watch hardware issue.

5. Check the Apple Watch features you plan to use

RePod does not change what the Apple Watch can do. Available features still depend on the Watch model, watchOS version, apps, battery condition, connectivity, carrier plan and region.

Use caseWhat to verify
Downloaded music or podcastsDownload content and test Bluetooth headphones before leaving the iPhone behind.
Apple PayConfirm your card, region, passcode and Wrist Detection settings.
WorkoutsTest the Watch in its new form; wrist-based measurements may not behave the same when it is handheld.
Cellular or online featuresConfirm the Watch model, active plan, coverage and carrier support.
Alarms and timersTest sound, haptics and charging before relying on them.

6. Everyday care

Keep the shell and Watch free of grit, and do not use the wheel as a lever. If the Watch has a swollen battery, damaged display or unreliable charging, stop using it and follow Apple or an authorized service provider’s safety guidance.
